Touring with H-san 観光って楽しい!

We had a great day yesterday--Granville Island, the Aquabus, and biking around Stanley Park. No wonder I am tired today!  昨日は素晴らしかった！グランヴィル・アイランドに行って、アクアバスに乗った。それでスタンリーパークに行って、自転車で観光した。疲れた！！！

Stanley Park adventures--under the Lions' Gate Bridge

Cleaning the deck and making some drinks...

H-san is visiting us today so there's been some cleaning going on...and some drink preparation. Hope the weather holds so we can have a good week of fun and drinks on the deck...

Dinner and breakfast of champions

L decided to make a really English meal for dinner last night. We had fish pie, mushy peas, salad, home-made pickled onions, and chutney! It was spectacular.

And for breakfast: smoothie in a lovely Canadian cup! And HobNobs. Diet, here we come!

This made me smile when I drove past: I imagine the conversation went something like this:

"I'm thinking of opening a Thai restaurant"

"Oh great--that's just what we need: one more Thai restaurant"

Team China: Celebration of Light ヴァンクーバーの花火大会

土曜日にヴァンクーバーの「夕焼けビーチ」で花火大会を見に行った。夕焼けはやっぱりきれいだった。On Saturday night we went to Sunset Beach to watch the Honda Celebration of Light with friends. It was Team China's turn. Before the fireworks even started, the light show was magnificent.

The picnic was fabulous! ピックニックも楽しかった。豪華じゃない？

花火はまあまあだった。やっぱり日本のほうがすごい。The fireworks were OK--not as good as Japan, but that is to be expected.

Montreal, au revoir さようならモントレオール

We had breakfast at a Montreal brunch institution 朝ご飯はモントレオールの有名なレストランで

 Their slogan is great...これ面白い。日本語にすることは難しい。

I had the smoked salmon benny　私はスモーク・サーモン・ベネディクト

 L had the mac and cheese (eggs are not her favorite food)　Lはマック・アンド・チーズ　（卵があまり好きじゃない）

 On the way back to the hotel, this was on the sidewalk...cleaning up...　ホテルへ帰る途中でこの可愛い掃除機カー見かけた！

 Bixi...the bike rental system...　レンタル自転車システムです。ビクしーという

 Ahem--who parked their scooter there?　あれ、バイクが邪魔

 We'll try these next time...今度乗ってみます。

And now we're at the airport...　今空港です。

 I am still amazed how many public phones I have seen in Montreal.　古いけどまだ使われているかな。じゃ、行きまーす！

Dinner was delightful, but I only remembered to take a snap of dessert...
