Sights of the past week

Some stuff I saw on my travels this week: flowers for a car crash victim who died near where I work...a terrible tragedy...

Picking up a package

On Friday after work I dropped by the mall to pick up a package. I parked my bike...

  I had no idea how the package was going to fit in the pannier...but it did...just!

We had a fantastic time on Saturday at the England-Canada quarter-final. BC Place is a fabulous venue!

Lots of empty seats because we got there early...

Canada eventually scored one back...

But it wasn't enough--England goes on to play Japan in the semi-final on Wednesday.

A big day for human rights in the US

Breaking news: same-sex marriage is now legal across the entire USA. It is a very big day for human rights in the US. Bravo, SCOTUS, bravo.

The US is now the 21st country to legalise same-sex marriage across the country...welcome to the club #21.

Last Thursday we had a lovely evening at the Flying Pig in Vancouver.

 Crab cakes, beet salad, the best macaroni cheese ever, and lots and lots of wine!

Going to the World Cup!

We're going to the Women's Football World Cup quarter final game!!

It should be spectacular!

Appy hour in Port Moody...

Some evenings it's easier just to head out to Port Moody and sit near the water...

  And splurge on appies...

 The fish tacos were basically little sushi bites...yummy!

  And it is always nice being near the water...

Fun afternoon with the power washer

These photos don't really show it very well, but the deck was very dirty and mouldy.

I even had to move all the outside deck furniture into the spare room...

I hooked up the power washer on Sunday afternoon...

 ...and tried to clean off the mess...

 Trust me...it was yucky...

 And this is how it looked after...wet, but better...

Whiplash

Finally watched Whiplash...excellent movie. Whiplashという映画をさっき見終わった。素晴らしい経験だった。ジャズにあまり詳しくないけど頑張る気がよーく伝えてくれた映画です。おすすめ‼︎

Graduation brunch 卒業ブランチ

Had a lovely morning with a friend celebrating her daughter's graduation from high school...今朝は素晴らしい卒業ブランチがあった。仕事の友達は１７歳の高校生がやっとう高校を卒業した。私たちおいしいブランチををいただきました。

My current sci-if book

今読んでいる本はサイファイのタイトルで面白いです。シリーズの二巻目です。まだ10パーセントしか読んでいないけど今楽しんでいる。This is my latest book, the second in a sic-if series. Omly 10% in but enjoying it so far.

Garden progress 庭が進んでいる

There has been some fabulous progress in the co-op gardens again this year.

I am not helping very much, but it is nice to watch other people do the work...

With any luck we'll score some spare veggies...

 And it is nice having all this greenery around
