We are slowly putting wooden tiles out on the ugly black deck. Slowly slowly...黒いベランダーを少しずつ木造タイルを置いています。どう思う？

Friday night dinner on the deck・金曜日の夕飯

This was the delightful Friday night dinner on the deck...金曜日のすばらしい夕飯だった。。。

A delicious salad...サラダ。。。マンゴやアボカード入り！

Followed up with tempura, sushi, and sashimi...I was in heaven!   それで天ぷら、刺身やお寿司！天国だ！

Commercial Drive・コマーシャル道

On Saturday afternoon, after the Botanical Gardens, we stopped off at Commercial Drive. It is a real multicultural hub, with lots of nice restaurants and interesting things to see. 土曜日の午後、植物園から帰ってるところ、コマーシャル道へよった。バンクーバーのとてもいいところです。他文化的なところで、お店やレストランが超面白い。

There are lots of murals on the drive...壁画もあっちこっち。。。

あ。。。面白い。。。Anyone have a nice chianti?

Ah...perfect timing...このレストラン怖くない？！人食いのカフェーで食事しなくてもいいと思う。。。

Interesting colour for peppers...ハンガリーのピーマンってこの色？

Lunch was Italian food...お昼はイタリア料理！

I, of course, had gnocchi! 私はやっぱりニョッキー！

L was so inspired by the Italian afternoon, she came home and made pizza from scratch!  帰ってくるとLが手作りピザー！満足！

UBC Botanical Gardens・ブリティッシュ・コロンビア大学の植物園

On Saturday we did a very special walk at the University of British Columbia's Botanical Gardens. We walked through the gardens and saw all sorts of beautiful flowers and plants.土曜日にブリティッシュ・コロンビア大学の植物園でいいお散歩した。 きれいなお花や植物も見れて。。。

But the best part of the visit was the treetops walk...一番に部分はこの「木の上のお散歩」だった。前は誰だろう。。。

How much fun is this path? 楽しい道。。。

And it was a beautiful day...いいお天気。。。

In the middle of the trees...木の中。。。

Beautiful day...きれいな天気。。。

At times it was a bit scary...ちょっとだけ怖かった。。。

Greenery against a blue sky...青空に緑。。。

This tree gets a love hug from some ivy...この木にツタがからんでいる。

The flowers were beautiful...お花や草もきれい。

This tree and the climbing vine are great friends...この木がつる植物と仲いいみたい！

How interesting is this? この木面白くない？

Hmmm...which way now...どっちがいいかな。。。

RWB breakfast 赤白青の朝食

Not super interesting, I agree--but the red-white-blue breakfast this morning just entertained me...今日の朝食が超カラフル。簡単な投稿だけど何と無く楽しかった。

Shopping in Vancouver! バンクーバーでお買い物！

While in Vancouver we did a spot of shopping...three kinds of popcorn (very healthy and not fattening at all!)バンクーバーで買い物をした。。。このポップコーンはあまり健康じゃないけど美味しい！

...a cute little tea pot (I use it every night!)　茶瓶（ちゃびん）可愛くない？(毎晩使っている！)

Some South African goodies...tea and jam...南アフリカのお店でちょっと買いすぎた！ジャムや紅茶！

This is tea but it is enjoyed like coffee (we haven't tried it yet!)　この紅茶はルイボスだけどエスプレッソーのようなものだそうです。まだ飲んでいないけど楽しみ！

And a big tub of coconut oil...yum!　ココナツ・オイルも買った。美味しいよ！

We spent time in Vancouver with friends this weekend...check out this old record player we came across!　週末、友達とバンクーバーで遊びました。このレコード・プレーヤーも見つけた。すごくない？(買わなかったけど。。。）

Tea at Stanley Park Tea House...ここで紅茶を楽しめた。。。

Well, L had coffee...Lがやっぱりコーヒーを。

The view was lovely...景色がきれい。。。

And then we took a walk by the water...それでお散歩もした。。。

Breakfast place...外食の朝ごはん

Found a lovely little breakfast place not too far from us. I had the traditional breakfast...この間楽しい朝ごはんを外で食べた。私はいつもの卵とトーストを注文。

L, of course, decided against breakfast and went straight to the Shepherd's Pie! Lはやっぱり朝食じゃなくてシェパード［羊飼いの］パイ!
