On the Sunshine Coast for work...今日はここでお仕事。。。

I headed up the Sunshine Coast for work today...I took an early morning ferry...it was still dark!　今朝、「サンシャイン海岸」へ出張した。あさ７：２０のフェリーに乗った。秋だから6：30はまだ暗かった。

きれいなところだけどサンシャインが足りなかった。It is beautiful but there is a definite lack of sunshine...

あれ？これがサンシャイン海岸？No, really...the Sunshine Coast is where?

 Finally, a little bit of sunshine, just as I was heading home...やっとサンシャインちょっと見えた！

Then I headed back to Vancouver...it was dark by the time I got on the ferry...帰りのフェリーは午後6：50のだった。ちょっと暗かった！やっぱり秋だ！

Now I am home and heading to bed!!!  さっき、うちに帰ったのですぐ眠る予定です！

Inside the Parksville place パークスビルのホテル

The place is small but nice, with a view to the gardens and bay...小さいけどいいところ。外の庭や湾が見える。。。

There's a fireplace warming my cold toes and soggy shoes...暖炉もあって。。。寒い足にちょうどいい。。。

This is the place we are staying at in Parksville.  これは今泊まっているところです。

カヤックはできるけど雨が降っている。We could kayak but it's raining.

On Vancouver Island バンクーバー島で

Sitting in a lovely Oceanside apartment with L and her parents watching a movie...a relaxing end to a busy work week...忙しい一週間の終わりにちょっと休憩を楽しんでいる。今夜、Lと彼女の両親とDVDを見ている。リラっくすできていいいいいいいいい。。。

From Osoyoos to Oliver and Penticton

I drove from Osoyoos to Oliver and stopped there for a meeting. Then on the way from Oliver to Penticton I stopped to take a walk along a "Wildlife Viewing" nature walk. It was about 10 minutes each way on a beautiful boardwalk. Absolutely delightful and a nice break from being in the car!

 

 

And after all that walking and admiring nature I had to keep up my energy with a salad and pizza!

I turned on the TV in Osoyoos and this was in the news: Prime Minister Abe is in Canada speaking with Canadian Prime Minister Harper.

Monday at work in Kelowna

On Sunday night I flew into Kelowna and checked in to a simple hotel. It has a pool but I haven't had a chance to use it yet...

My life this week!

I got home late on Friday night after missing a plane home. Luckily I did make it home and went straight to bed. I was exhausted and sore all over so only got up late on Saturday, to unpack...

Then I spent Saturday doing three loads of laundry...which made a pretty big mountain!

And then I had to fold and repack for another week away....busy weekend!

On Friday I was working in Vernon--this seniors public input meeting was attended by more than 80 people!

...I had a delightful dinner in Whistler: home-made spinach pasta and a delightful plum tomato sauce...

 I am staying in Whistler for the night before another work meeting tomorrow morning. NOt a bad job if you can get it...

Still not sure about this whole forty thing, but at least I have some great mugs to get me through the year (thanks, mom!)  40ってまだ慣れていないけどいいマグカップをいただいて、頑張れるかも！

Excellent movie!! すばらしい映画を見た！

Last night we watched a great movie about baseball and statistics. It doesn't sound like it would be fun but it was. And Brad Pitt is not even the highlight of the movie--the numbers nerd is. Lots of fun--and a good thinking movie. 夕べ面白い映画を見た。統計や野球についての映画です。面白いと思わないかもしれないけど超面白かった。時間あったらDVDで見て！

We got a lovely box from Y-san...full of goodies from Myanmar and Taiwan and Japan....soooo lovely!! Yさんから素晴らしい箱が届きました！

And T-shirts from Myanmar--how cool is that?? ミアンマーのTシャツも入っていて、すごいでしょう！

And maybe the most amazing thing was the sheet of newspaper from Myanmar!!! Absolutely delightful!  Thanks, Y!!!!! ミアンマーの新聞の一枚も！Yさん、ありがとう！

A brilliant birthday! 誕生日、すぎた！

Yesterday was the big 4-0! And yes'm, I am still here. I am not sure how I feel about entering this new decade, but I will give it some time and see how it feels. 昨日はやっと40歳の誕生日だった。私が40なんてまだ慣れていないけど頑張ります。
