Walking around Sedona セドナ市のお散歩

L's parents live in a seniors'community.　Lの両親は高齢者に優しいところに住んでいる。

Back from Arizona アリゾナ州から帰ってきた！

We are back from a week in sunny Sedona. I thought it would be warmer than Vancouver but it was rather cold! Thank goodness it was sunny. More photos to follow. For now--this was one of my achievements during the first two days of the trip: I finished this 450-page book that took me through Florence and Istanbul...アリゾナ州のセドナ市から帰ってきた。もうちょっと暖かいところと持っていたけどしょうがない。晴れていてよかった！今週、もっと写真を投稿しますが一応これを自慢します：長い本を2日間で読み終えた！フィレンツやイスタンブールで起こる話なのでとても面白かった。

Rediscovering my pack...バックパック、再発見

With the Vietnam trip coming up, I have it in my head I want to use my 65l hiking backpack. I am not sure I will go through with it, but I have been practicing a bit. And I am taking it to Arizona. We'll see how it goes (and how sore my shoulders are!)

最近、ハイキングのバックパックを再発見した。18歳の誕生日にもらったものなので新品に近いやつだと思う。南アに住んでいたとき結構使っていたけどこの16年間まったく使っていない。ベトナム旅行に使おうと思っているので次のアリゾナ旅で練習します！

I am at home taking care of L--poor thing has a terrible fever. At least I get to drink fancy coffee...家でLの面倒をみている。彼女は熱があってちょっと大変です。休憩でコーヒーをいただきます！

Sunday night Christmas party

I was too busy to blog yesterday--the day was full of cleaning and cooking to prepare for our Christmas party. There was spiced cider, mulled wine, red and white wine, gin and tonic, vodka for Bloody Mary drinks, port, sherry, Baileys, and a host of non-alcoholic beverages...

Gingerbread houses!!! ジンジャーブレッドで作られたもの！

We had a lovely evening in Vancouver: dinner in the Hyatt in Vancouver, with a beautiful view of the city.　今夜はおいしい夕飯をバンクーバーで楽しめた。

Then a delightful meander around Gingerbread Lane. Lots of creative Christmassy designs in gingerbread!　次はジンジャーブレッドで何かを作る試合の作品を見に行った。素晴らしいデザインがどんどん並べていた！
