Off to Eugene! 夏休み！

Heading to Eugene for a week so I will be off the blog for a while!! We are in Portland airport waiting for our next flight....yaaaaay vacation!

A fun day at work

On Thursday, my office mates blindfolded me and took me somewhere I had never been before...a local carousel!  Small horses, and a wheelchair option...

 Then we went back to the office and had an indoors picnic...

 With lights and blankets in the boardroom...

Drove to Williams Lake...

Drove the 3 hours from Kamloops to Williams Lake this evening. I am exhausted so heading to bed. Best part of the junky hotel I am staying in? The pool. Thank heck for that because the rest of it is not interesting. I am looking forward to more excellent meetings tomorrow...

Back to Kamloops!

I headed out on a business trip today. I flew into Kelowna and rented a car to drive to a meeting in Vernon.

 Then after that I headed drove to Kamloops because I have meetings all day tomorrow. On the drive it was great because my iPod synched with the car stereo so I could listen to my podcasts for 90 minutes!

 Kamloops is a cute, crafty little town. Some people have knitted covers for the trees just for summer fun!

 This was dinner: asparagus-brie pie with a salad and an orange juice. By far the healthiest meal of the day!

Clumbers クランバースパニエル

A friend has two clumber spaniels so we went with on a walk recently. They are big and cute and friendly but they get hot easily so they have their own fan in the back of the car. Oh the life...友達がクランバースパニエルを二匹飼っている。大きくて可愛い犬で、週末に一緒にお散歩した。クランバースパニエルにとって天気が暑いので車の後ろにクランバースパニエル用の扇風機がある。いいねー！

This week we also had some interesting sushi rolls--mango and avocado. Not exactly traditional Japanese sushi but they were certainly yummy! 今週も美味しいおすしを食べた。マンゴ巻きとアボカードまきです。日本で見つけれないものかもしれないけど美味しかった！

Housewarming

Last night we had our housewarming. It was a delightful event but I didn't take any pictures. Oh well...it was a lot of fun. 夕べやっと引っ越し祝いパーティーをやりました！

We did have a lovely salt selection...塩のブッフェーがあった。

アルコールもあったけど誰も飲まなかった！友達が赤ワインを二本持ってきてくれた。日本式カップもくれました。超うれしいです。And some delightful booze on offer! J, thanks for the cups. D, thanks for the Malbec and the card! T, thanks for the marvellous Merlot. We will have to do another event to drink it all! ;-D

And nice floating candles from Y, which we used completely--they were great. Yさんにいただいたロウソクも使いました。きれいだった！

 
And LL, thanks for the cupcakes! I had one this morning for breakfast! Yum!　LLさんがカップケーキを持ってきてくれた。残した一個を朝食にした。ご馳走様！

Aquafit

Last night I went to Aquafit with a friend. It was an hour-long class and was a lot of fun. I am definitely going again the next time I have free time on a Thursday night!

Lunch in New West...

I went out to New West for a site visit this week. After the visit, I had a lovely snack near the Fraser River, which was lovely. Here's the Patullo Bridge and the SkyTrain barely visible in the foreground.

Great food day

Today was a pretty good food day...mixed fruits for breakfast...

And fish and salad for lunch...

Friends got engaged!

Some friends of ours got engaged recently so we took them out for dinner last night on Commercial Drive...

We had oysters and champagne...

A mixed charcuterie plate..some salad and pasta (neither of which made it into photographs)

And delightful desserts: chocolate pecan pie and olive oil ice-cream!

Plants vs. Zombies 2 ゲームにハマっている！

弟に進められたゲームにハマってしまった！「植物対ゾンビ２」というゲームでとても楽しいです。1はパソコンで結構遊んでいた。2は先週出て無料でiPadにダウンロードできた。毎日少しずつやっているけどねるまえはだめ！  Check out the game I am mildly addicted to--thanks to my brother. Plants vs Zombies was a riot and now the second one is out. I am using my iPad to play it, which is pretty fun. Not sure if it is as good as the first one, but will see...For now, I am making sure I don't play before bed, but I am enjoying the heck out of it!

New sofa! 新しいソファー！

Today we bought a sofa from a friend who's moving. It's really comfortable--maybe we will sleep on it tonight to try it out! Thanks, J!  今日、引っ越ししようとしている友達のいらないソファを買いました。運ぶのがちょっと大変だったけどやっと出来上がり！

We had to rent a van to get it--and it was difficult to drive--but we did it! 運ぶにはヴァンレンタルが必要だったけどやる価値があった！

Fantastic concert! 素晴らしいコンサート！

今日、素晴らしいコンサートを見に行った！また写真を投稿しますけど一応伝えたかったのです。I went to a fantastic concert this evening. I will put up more pictures tomorrow but for now...it was brilliant!
