Comfort food breakfast

In early because I have a big TO DO list and am frantically trying to catch up. Also, we are off to a wedding, so trying to get ahead of the game. For now, here`s my calm, quiet start to the day. Wish me luck with the rest of the madness!

Vancouver Island (March 2013) Part 2 バンクーバー島（2013年3月）パーツ2

We had some lovely food experiences in Victoria. We had drinks at The Empress Hotel.　ビクトーリア市にいた週末は美味しいものたくさんいただいた。エンプレスホテルでの飲み物。

Dinner at Pagliacci's...イタリアのレストランで夕飯。

A very good dinner...

Saw some fun things...楽しいのいっぱい見た。。。

Including lots of float planes...可愛い飛行機はよく飛んだりします。

Ate some great fish and chips...美味しいもの、また！

...right by the water!　食べるところもすごい！

It was excellent!　美味しかった！

And we weren't the only ones eating!　あれ！

We saw some delightful totem poles　きれいでしょう!

...and the workshop where some are made.　ここは作っているところ。

The anniversary dinner was stunning...　結婚記念日もいい夕飯。

Vancouver Island (March 2013) Part 1 バンクーバー島（2013年3月）パーツ１

I have been meaning to post these pictures for over a year. We went to Victoria on Vancouver Island in March 2013 for an anniversary but I never got around to sharing the photos. This is the lovely waterfront hotel we stayed in.　去年のたびですが投稿を忘れてしまった！2013年3月にバンクーバー島に行って来た。このいいホテルに泊まった。

And this was the view from the balcony.　ベランダーからの景色。

We took one of these boats from Fisherman's Wharf... この船にも乗った。

It was a short walk to the Parliament Buildings...10ッぷん歩いたら州議事堂(しゅうぎじどう）があった。

Here's where the Provincial Government sits when in session.　政府がいろいろ議論するところ。

Stern faces looking down on the proceedings...怖い顔に見られる。

 And sterner faces watching over the outside... 外も怖い顔。

Indeed, Your Majesty...indeed...だろうね。。。

Addicted to a new game...

This came in the mail last week--thanks to a birthday gift certificate from my brother! I am absolutely addicted...and luckily I can play on my own if I have to...it's called Bananagrams and it is tonnes of fun!

Got my watch fixed

I haven't worn this watch in many years but finally got it fixed. It was a watch I wore in my childhood so it feels really interesting to be wearing it now--at this age. Thank heck my parents got me such a grown up watch when I was a child. Thanks!

Man of Steel...マン・オブ・スティール

We saw this movie recently (well, a while ago). I was expecting more, but it was an entertaining couple of hours.

On the bike again...また自転車での出勤

I have been biking to work again these past few weeks--what an absolute treat. I thought I would include a few snaps from my route, which is mainly off-road. この夏、また自転車で出勤している。ほとんど車の通らない道なのでとても楽しいです。

曇っている日でも気持ちいい。It's great fun, even on cloudy days.

I ride alongside a river and often see all kinds of birdlife. 川沿いのルートなので鳥などはよく見える。

Much better than driving...車を使うよりずっといい！

Fun at Port Moody ポートムーディで楽しい時間を過ごした

Today was L's parents' last full day in BC. We had a lazy morning because of the rain, then we headed to Port Moody for lunch and a lovely walk. 今日はL両親の最後の日だった。明日帰るのでちょっとゆっくりした朝をすごした。午後はご飯食べてからちょっと散歩。

The geese were out in full force...ギースがいっぱいいた。

And the lake was beautiful, if a bit grey. 湖がきれいけどちょっと寒そう。

 We took a nice little walk through the forest nearby...近くの森林でお散歩した。

 And could still see the lake...湖がずっと見えた。

And some streams...小川でも渡った。

On the way out, we passed a water splash park...帰りに子供の遊ぶところがあった。

All in all, a beautiful day... きれいな一日だった。

Easter Sunday 復活祭の日曜日

This is a shockingly late post...but I never got to share our fabulous Easter Sunday pictures...first we had brunch by a river...信じられないほど遅く投稿しています。これは復活祭の日曜日の写真。4月にユージーン市に遊びに行ってきた週末。朝ごはんは川沿いのレストランでブランチ。

Then we had early dinner at a friend's farm...夜に友達の飼育場（しいくじょう）で夕飯。彼女は馬、４頭ぐらい飼ってもいる。

Replete with pie and cupcakes!　カップケーキとパイもあって、美味しかった！

A delightful weekend in Oregon...オレゴンの週末、リラックスできた。
